Rainy Days of Winter
Taking a week for my back to heal was definitely the right call with 9Round. I went back the next week and the first few times were tough after missing the time I did.
Just as I was getting back on track I had to miss another chunk when I went to Murphy to clean out Mom's house. It was several long days of hard work. I am confident that I'd never have been able to do what I did a couple years ago before beginning this journey. I may be in better shape than I was in my teens and early 20s but I'm definitely not nearly as strong as I was back then!!!
I had hit a plateau with weight loss at the end of the year and in January, but it started to come off the last few weeks. I'm really not doing anything different, it's just started to come off. I'm down 146 lbs overall. I now weigh less than I did in the 8th grade.
For Christmas I'd asked for new clothes, so since the break I've gotten lots of comments about my weight loss. It's more noticeable in clothes that are the right size apparently.
It would be nice to see more weight come off, but the goal never has been weight loss per se. I'm just looking to keep getting in better shape and continue this journey of better health. Years ago I promised myself if I got to 250 lbs and held it off for a year I'd buy myself my dream truck. At the time I thought foolishly I could do it easily, today nearly 10 years later I see how folly that notion was, but I also see that it is feasible to get there over the next couple years. So time will tell.
I've got to get back to running some, I've not run since the morning Mom died other than at 9round. I'm planning to start back this weekend or next week.
We are planning a big trip to Arizona in April, that should be a fun trip and in a couple weeks we have a soccer tourney down in Charleston. I got my son and I tickets to the USMNT game down in Cary 3/27, it should be an exciting evening.
Next committed update 3/23
